Message From HOD

Greetings from the Department of Urdu. It is my privilege to lead a Department which has played a very significant role in helping generations of young women in the southernmost state of the country to achieve a level of practical communication in the Official language Urdu. We strive to enhance the ability of our students to communicate in Urdu and also to apply Urdu to work or further studies.

Mission

Language is the tool to implement new ideas of literature. Urdu language is an Indo-Aryan language spoken chiefly in South Asia. In India'Urdu is an eighth schedule language whose status and culture al heritage is recognised by constitution of India. i. Urdu is spoken by a majority of the people and served as a uniting factor among the diverse populace; it had been accorded the status of official language in several Indian states with 230 million total speakers. Urdu common course is helpful to sensitize the students to the aesthetic, cultural and social aspects of literature. This will help the students to be familiar with the different forms of literature. And it also opens a wide spectrum of job opportunities for the students.

Vision

Language is the effective medium of communication. Urdu, ouis an Indian language known as Hindustani , plays a pivotal role in communication for the people of the country. The medium of Urdu can be used as a tool for firmly arising Indian heritage and culture and thus we can develop the Unity and Humanity. Our college is situated in a rural area of Malabar. Most of the students are from middle class families. So the main aim of Urdu department is to make students comfortable with the language and making them proficient in the same.
